Activating a Purchased License During a Trial

Products: All versions of HOMER Pro and HOMER Grid.

This article will guide you through the steps to activate a purchased license from a trial version of HOMER Pro or HOMER Grid. 
 
If you would like to activate a paid HOMER Pro or HOMER Grid license from an active trial, you will first need to log in to your user account here. Once you have logged in to your HOMER Energy user account, select MY ACCOUNT >> Licenses. 

 

Expire your trial license: You will now see all your licenses on your Manage License screen. Find your trial license listed under HOMER Trials. In the action column located on the right side of your screen, you will see "Expire Trial." Make sure you select the trial for the product you would like to expire. When you click this button, you will be asked to confirm that you want to expire your trial and be notified that this action cannot be undone. 




Delete HOMER Pro Trial: Once you have expired your trial, please go into your Documents\HOMER Energy\License folder as shown below and delete your HOMER Pro trial license file. Scroll down for HOMER Grid. 



Delete HOMER Grid Trial: Once you have expired your trial, please go into your Documents\HOMER Energy\LicenseGrid folder as shown below and delete your HOMER Grid trial license file. 



Activate purchased license:  In order to activate your license for HOMER Pro (3.11.6 and above) or HOMER Grid, reopen the software and enter your email address in the license panel. Next, click on "Get Started" to retrieve your license file. If you have more than one license, the software will direct you to the website to select which license you would like to activate. 

If you have an older version of HOMER Pro (3.11.5 and below), enter your email address in the license panel. Next, select "Activate Paid License" to be directed to the website. Select the license you would like to activate and return to the license manager within HOMER Pro. Click on Retrieve Activated License to get started.
