Battery Autonomy

Last Updated: Jul 25, 2016 03:23PM MDT

The battery autonomy and life calculations don’t seem to agree with our manual calculations.

Both of those calculations are pretty simple in HOMER, so it should be easy enough to spot the discrepancies between your calculations and ours.  The autonomy is the useable nominal capacity of the battery [kWh] divided by the average electric load [kW].  The battery life is the lifetime battery throughput [kWh] divided by the annual battery throughput [kWh/yr].
